Overview
With a store account connected, you choose which apps Spek works on and which markets it works in. Both are editable later, so neither decision is permanent.
A market is one storefront and one language, and it is the unit everything else in Spek is scoped to.
Pick an app
Once a store account is connected, Spek reads the app catalog that credential can see and lists it. Each row shows the app's icon, its name and the store it came from, with a Connect button that turns into Connected once it is done. Connect all takes everything in the list.
You choose from the list rather than typing anything in, so there is no way to mistype an identifier or connect an app you do not have access to.
If the app you expect is missing, the credential's role probably cannot see it. That is covered in connect App Store Connect.
Choose your markets
A market is one storefront and one language, such as the German App Store in German. You choose which markets the agent works on when you set it up.
The agent can open new App Store localizations before drafting for them, so you are not limited to the languages your listing already has.
Start with two or three markets you actually care about. Each one is researched independently, so ten markets is ten times the research and ten times the review. You can add more later without redoing anything.
One market at a time
Search rankings are computed per storefront. A keyword that is easy in Turkey can be impossible in the United States, and the words people actually search differ even between two markets that share a language.
So Spek researches every market using only that market's own store, in its own language. US search volume is never used to justify a German keyword, and a translation is never treated as research.
- Each market gets its own keyword set, its own competitors and its own rankings.
- There is no combined score across markets, because there is no such thing to measure.
- A change that helps one storefront can do nothing in another, and that is normal.
Adding more apps later
Add another app at any time from the app switcher in the sidebar. Each app carries its own agent configuration, its own markets and its own competitors, so setting up a second app does not disturb the first.
Common questions
My app is not in the list.
The key's role cannot see it, or it is not in the account the key belongs to. Check the role in App Store Connect, then reconnect.
Can I connect more than one app?
Yes. Use Connect all to take everything in the list, or connect them one at a time and press Continue when you are done. Each app keeps its own agent configuration, markets and competitors.
How many markets should I start with?
Two or three. Each is researched independently, so the review load grows with the count, and the first pass teaches you more than breadth does.
